If you’ve seen those ads for web content with all the strict provisions about “original content” and “SEO experience required”, they’re not kidding. Search engines, particularly Google, don’t like duplicate materials that can create a few challenges for content creators- After all, how original can you be when doing content for business mobile phones, a subject with so many common factors with other phones? There’s an answer to that question, and it’s a commercially based answer, as much as a purely practical exercise.

1. Why Original content is so important- A brief history of the internet
Search engines were designed to deal with the huge amounts of material the internet produces every second. For the sake of efficiency, good ways of identifying subjects and content values had to be found. That was the initial reason for the clampdown on duplicate content, which achieves exactly the opposite result, and makes searches much less efficient.
The next big problem came in the form of rampant plagiarism. Intellectual property laws aren’t vague, and the internet, (contrary to absolutely idiotic online folklore), isn’t immune from prosecution for anything. Copyscape was one of the benchmark results.
A further evolution of this situation came from the business sector, particularly content producers. “Recycling” of their commercial materials isn’t exactly popular among content providers. If site owners want content, they have to pay due attention to the interests of the people providing their content.
2. The commercial Perspective on Original Content
The “no duplicates” approach soon found another good reason to go for original content. It became obvious quite quickly that the original content was usually also better quality content. This, more than anything, put the cut-and-paste hacks out of business.
These people made a living out of stealing materials, with some odd results. Some of them would steal material from for example Oxford University materials, and then, in the same article, prove they couldn’t spell two words correctly in the same sentences.
It was a woeful sight, but it had a good effect. The next stage in refining web content was all about content quality. The new benchmark for content was “native language speakers, good grammar,” and variations on that theme. That really put an end to the direct copying. Plagiarism and suspect materials are now pretty easy to positively identify.
3. The new era- “Content rules”
With these developments, another major event occurred. The raising of the bar for content quality also redefined content values. The advertising industry in particular, usually the primary global driver for media material standards, soon got the idea that better quality meant better business. High value content, sourced from expert content providers, sold better.
Original material is now valuable in multiple ways:
It is by definition unique, therefore more interesting to users. It’s sourced from professional content providers having much better knowledge bases, so the content value is high. (In some cases, internet content writing is similar to technical writing, requiring accuracy and strong understanding of subjects.)
Across the content spectrum, these materials have changed the face of the internet, and set the standard for future content. Watch how the new content quality develops, because it will continue to improve.

I’d say “Original” content is king. Experts says content should be not original in wording itself (just like those few bulks software creates) but must be original in ideas and topics itself.

Agree with you kim, write “bigger article” or write different
Creating quality content search engines will love is by no means an easy task for some people. Nowadays, we can get access to a great library of graphics, streaming videos to big, sophisticated-looking images. However, for some people, creating SEO-friendly content is a hassle, an ongoing process and a chore. But then again, they don’t have any option but to do it because it is the most common way to make your pages rank in Google.

well said ann, hope this little article will be useful for you.
There is more to SEO than links and keywords. In truth, content also plays an important role in increasing your popularity and improving your online traffic. Many websites today lack the content to appeal to the interest of the online public; in fact, these sites are mostly those that don’t rake in the traffic as much as the owners want them to. If you want to turn your site into a powerhouse, then you need to invest some time and effort in coming up with quality content for your visitors.
